Hello! I’ve taken out a new sim only contract with EE recently. My plan was to cancel my existing contract with Three and request a pac code to keep my number. However, I’ve just moved into a new house and I don’t have broadband set up in my house yet, it’s going to be a while before I can get it connected and in the meantime I’m using a mifi hotspot because I have no phone signal or 4G except for in one specific spot in the house.
what I’m wondering is, if I can put my new EE SIM card in that for the time being, and then at a later date once I have broadband at home, move the SIM card into my phone and request a pac code to transfer my existing number? Or, would I have to request a pac number right away to be able to do that?

You could request your PAC Code from Three whenever you would prefer, this code will be valid for 30 days. Your Three service will continue until the PAC Code is given to EE and the porting process begins. Once the number ports successfully this cancels your Three service automatically.
There is no requirement to do this straight away, you can port a number across to your EE contract at any point.
So you could keep your Three service going for now and request the PAC Code whenever you feel you are ready to Port. You will just have both services running concurrently for a while until then.
