Did you mean:

Chose to keep my old number when joining EE, but it's been 7 days?

Hi there,

I've run into a bit of a problem - so I'm trying to change my contract from Tesco to EE, and I ordered the SIM on the 25th of May, so last Thursday.  Given the weekend and bank holiday Monday, I knew the SIM wouldn't arrive immediately, but I was happy to see that it arrived on Tuesday.

However, my number hasn't transferred across to this new SIM yet, and so neither is my new data plan active yet. When I've got my family to call me, it still goes to Tesco's voicemail service as well.

I'm wondering if I have missed a step somewhere, and there's something else I should have done/been doing, or if I'm just being impatient.

I know I haven't fully 'registered' on this site/with EE? It's asking for the number on my device, but I don't know if I should add the number that the SIM came with, or my own phone number that I want to keep?

Thank you for any advice and help c:

Hello @ejlP

Welcome to EE.

Once your SIM has arrived your plan will be available on a temporary number.

Did you process your number port by providing your PAC code at the point of purchase?

To register your account please use the temporary number that is active.

Katie

Hi Katie,

At the point of purchase, a PAC code was asked for and I provided it.

My SIM came with a number that I have just used to fully register to 'My EE'; I had worried that my original phone number wouldn't be recognised if I used the EE/temporary number. But I've done that now.

I've called customer services, who claim that my old number will be transferred across tomorrow.

However I do not have access to the plan I have paid for - all that it says is that I have a 2gb limit? Is my new EE plan tied to my old number; and not the temporary number that came with the EE SIM?

In which case, it should all go live tomorrow?

Hello @ejlP

Thanks for getting back to me.

It's great to hear your number is due to be ported over tomorrow.

When you text AL to 150 from your EE SIM what reports back?

The plan should be attached to your temporary number.

Katie

Hi again,

Having texted AL to 150, it has come back with details from the plan that I chose.

I possibly was overthinking some of this and worried that I'd be charged for using the phone on the wrong number.

So hopefully my old number does get transferred across by tomorrow as well.

Thank you so much for your patience and your help with all of this.
