I have received a new EE PAYM 5G Multi SIM in the post, and several text messages reminding me that I need to activate it.
I did not request this and am aware that other members of this forum have had very complicated issues when replacing their SIMs with the new 5G compatible one, including getting locked out.
My old Nokia phone is an ancient 'dumb phone' which I only use for SMS and the occasional call. It is, however, my only mobile phone. I've never understood the relationship between EE and T-Mobile: it says T-Mobile on my phone screen; however, I know that EE took it over and send me my invoices.
My question is: what happens if I keep using my current SIM? Also, can I be assured that the new SIM will be compatible, and that I will not get locked out and will not have to change my number?
Thanks!

I've just read an article on the EE website Mobile coverage | We're changing some of our plans | EE which states "Anyone left on the impacted plans, will still be able to make and receive calls and texts".
This answers my initial question (in my first post) which was 'what happens if I keep using my existing SIM?' Apparently, nothing.
All I need is to make / receive calls, and send texts. Looks like that can continue.

There used to be an EE T Mobile Expiry Team hidden away for Help, but you had to go through the normal EE Customer Care Team on 150 or 0800 956 6000 to speak to them, not sure if there still around but might be worth bearing in mind in case you do need to speak to Them anytime soon.

Best thing to do is change to a service provider and ask for a pac number to take your number with you to a friends service provider, I am about to do this because have been unable to get sence out of EE for 5 years do you think we have been treaded with respect?

No. No respect at all. Not a human being in sight, and forget the 150 number - it is never, ever answered. My original question is sorted though - I just did nothing and it was ok, but no-one was able to tell me that! Thinking of moving.
