My daughter is in France now but the roaming didn't automatically activate and a text welcoming her to the country didn't arrive..
I paid for unlimited data top up before she left and increased her spend cap as advised.. by staff in store.
Any help appreciated

Thanks for coming to the community for help with your daughter's roaming settings.
If she has tried manually connecting to an available network in the device settings and no signal shows, please give us a call and the team can check everything is set up for roaming at our end.
I hope this is sorted quickly and your daughter enjoys her time in France.

@CURLYDavid : Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before leaving to go abroad?
If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before leaving UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.
Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. using a web-calling app over WiFi.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide some answers or possible suggestions.. The truth is I did all of those things, yes.
I'm dealing with a frustrated teenager who just wants Dad to solve the problem immediately (at 10pm at night).. I will call CS when they open but I visited an EE Store before leaving to make sure the phone/account was correctly prepared for the trip.
