Using data in Japan

I’m currently pay monthly on my iPhone 15 plus

do i have to pay extra to use my data when in Japan or is it free if not 

is it cheaper to get a e sim? 
flying next month please help! Thankyou

@Kiya3 : As you are on contract, you may use your usual UK allowances outside the EU with up to 500 MB data per day, when you buy the Zone 3 Pass for £7.50 / day. Otherwise you will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/japan.

As you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your account.
