Unlimited Data Plan, EU Roaming

Adam076

Morning all, I am contemplating a Sim only deal with EE, it is Unlimited Data plus EU Roaming bolted on.  My question is twofold:

1.   If I have unlimited data in the UK, do I also have the same while touring around Europe and, if so, do you still receive the advertised 100mbs while abroad?

2.   I usually go away twice a year for about 10 weeks at a time - has anyone had any problems for long periods abroad?

Many thanks in anticipation

@Adam076 :

  1. The FUP limit on data while roaming is 50 GB / billing month. Where do you see 100 GB advertised?
  2. You need to show a Stable Link with UK by using your SIM abroad for no more than 2 months in any 4 month period.

Hi XraySpeX, thanks for your reply.

I think you have mis-read, the download speed is advertised at 100mbs (not 100GB), I was just wondering if this remains the same while abroad?

But I was interested in your para 2 response with regards to 'no more than 2 months in any 4', that is interesting.

So I did! You'll get whatever speeds the local overseas networks are able to provide.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

I usually find I have much better speeds roaming in Europe than at home.  Nothing is guaranteed though!

Can I use my data in turkey now

I’ve just returned from Turkey and at first I had no data or roaming, the problem was that Turkey came under the EU roaming but in the middle of April they changed their zones, so check your essential add ons and see if you can see ROW1  stands for (rest of the world) and activate this option instead of EU roaming, everything was fine then, if you don’t see ROW1 content then I would suggest contacting EE, hopefully this helps

@Nipperlocko : Turkey never came under EU roaming. In fact up to Aug 2024 it has no special roaming passes & was charged on a per min or per SMS rate & you needed to buy a limited duration data add-on if you wanted data. It now comes under ROW 1 roaming

I’m afraid that to tell you it absolutely was included in our older plans but I never got the memo that it was changing

@Nipperlocko : That Nov '24 post by @Matt_124 is talking about how it will be after Aug '24, not before, when the Roaming Refresh took place & introduced the ROW 1 Pass to include Turkey, UAE & China in place of the 5-country limited Roam Abroad Pass.
