Roaming policy change

It seems EE have changed their roaming policy for New Zealand (not sure about others) where I could use my unlimited UK data and calls here whilst on holiday.

This changed out of the blue (no clear communication on this change other than a text I didn’t understand), so now also have a large bill on my account.

Luckily I have a £50 cap otherwise it would have been even larger but it caused a lot on inconvenience.

i think this is really poor on EEs side so now have a local SIM and will be cancelling my unlimited plan which I’ve had for years.

Cheers

Good morning @6bkt9.

Welcome to the Community 😊

We have recently changed the optional roaming add-ons available to customers, but if you had roaming included in your contract and haven't upgraded, the terms of this shouldn't have changed.

The only instance I can think of where there may have been some confusion is if you had roaming as an swappable inclusive extra.

Previously this was a single pass that covered you for the EU and five extra destinations, including New Zealand.

Now we've introduced more worldwide destinations where you can use your phone inclusively, but as part of this we split the EU and worldwide options into separate passes.

If you send us a text with PICK to 150, what does it advise you have active?

You could never use unlimited data while roaming. You are limited to a 50GB per billing month FUP when roaming.
