I am having the same problem in the USA. Roaming was activated while inThe UK. I can't make or receive phonecalls and have spent lots more getting more data .

I paid the £25, increased my spend cap, bought more data, paid for extra minutes and yet  my next bill is already estimated at £64 !!!! after 5 days in the US.
nothing works and I can't get through to ee from the USA.

Hello @Philinquier

Thanks for coming here.

When you arrived in the United States did you receive a welcome text?

Are you connected to a local network?

Speak soon,

Katie

@Philinquier : Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

Yes, the EE person I was on the phone to in the UK said he had activated my roaming as of 27 sept .

I did receive a welcome text. The phone service here is T-mobile.

but haven't been able to make a single phone call.

and though I could make texts, they must be costing a fortune as my next estimate bill is £65!  Even though I have paid for extra data and extra texting minutes as well as the £25 roaming abroad charge AND I discovered a daily charge for calls in the EU that I didn't order and can't stop- I was never in the EU

It sounds as tho' you've had the free ability to roam applied but not the £25 pm Roam Abroad Pass.  Are you sure the EE agent you spoke to didn't mean the 1st rather than the 2nd?

Have you looked in your EE a/c's Add-on & Extras to see if you have the Roam Abroad Pass?

Yes, on my EE App  it's showing that I do have the roaming on.

Can you post a screenshot?

"Roaming" meaning the ability to roam is free, but isn't shown anywhere on the app.

Billing add-ons to reduce the cost, are.

Screenshots of add ons

And now my bill has gone up again
