Do. I need to turn on mobile data to use bolt on calls and data

If you're on PAYG - simply use your phone in the UK before travelling abroad, this enables roaming

If you're on pay-monthly, text ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK, this enables roaming.

To use mobile data whilst roaming, you need to also have mobile-data & data-roaming enabled on your phone. There is no similar setting for voice calls, you simply need roaming enabled on your SIM.
