I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.
Is this correct?

@Christopher_G (EE Community Support Team)
Could you make a point of going through this thread and answering our pressing questions, as EE's comms are really opaque regarding the loss of inclusive roaming. Many of us are pre-2021 customers who have always been told that we'll continue to get inclusive roaming, provided we don't change contract. What is the exact position please?

Good evening @willmow.
With our incoming rest of the world roaming changes, customers with inclusive EU roaming as part of their plan will continue to benefit from it. No changes are being made to inclusive EU roaming as part of this refresh.
All the destinations currently covered under our inclusive extras will continue to be covered too, in fact there will also be an inclusive extra made available to cover all of RoW Zone 1! So customers on an eligible plan can continue to roam stress-free in these locations.
The changes taking effect here will be impacting our optional chargeable add-ons, and now more locations than ever will offer the benefit of using your UK allowances at a fixed and competitive price.
These texts have been sent as an initial heads up to customers, so please keep an eye out in the near future where we'll have further comms with specific details on how and when customers could be affected.

Well that's a relief (if I read you correctly).
Just to reiterate: the initial SMS comms was sloppily worded. It was specifically addressed to me by name and said "Your current roaming products will be removed from 25 December 2024. We will send you a text to confirm when this has happened". Much time and effort could have been avoided with better wording - a lesson for next time 🙂

Hi,
If your current contract includes the Travel Data Pass and essentially allows the use of your data in all EU countries + Switzerland, will this be maintained?
Thank you!

Hey @Georg1990 😊
The Travel Data Pass is an add-on where you received a fixed amount of data per day at a fixed charge for each day you choose to connect.
This is separate to our inclusive extras, but for the EU including Switzerland the best way to connect moving forwards will depend on your current plan and when you took this out.

Hi @Peter_W
Im sure all of us in the community really appreciate your response and clarification.
My only question is: with the introduction of Tariff Refresh 2024 the All Rounder and Full Works went to a 1 Inclusive Extra system and their Roaming was bundled in as included add-ons on top, will this still be the case going forward except the roaming addons will be replaced by the new versions? Or will this require taking out a new plan (again) to get all of the best features, as was the case with things like 5G SA when Tariff Refresh launched?
It would seem counterintuitive to go back to having roaming be a swappable Inclusive Extra on these plans, when it already forms a part of them separate to the swappable benefits.
TLDR: My question is around your use of "Inclusive Extra" to refer to Roaming (particularly Roam Further), when Tariff Refresh 24 removed them from being Inclusive Extras and instead just added the SOCs "Roam in EU" and "Roam Further Pass" separately.

I had the same message I go in holiday 12 times a year as well as my family and we have shared package for total 5 phones . Because we never upgraded our contracts we benefit from free roaming . Under no circumstances would I remain with EE not sure it’s even legal as we have a contract my bills would quadruple under there plans .

If you've viewed our Roaming Refresh page, these are the accurate costs if you don't have Roaming as an Inclusive Extra within your plan.
On the back of the advice above from @Christopher_G, if you'd like to change to a plan that includes this, then give us a call when you get the chance and one of our Guides will go through your options. If you let our team know where you mainly travel, they will always tell you the best options.

I’m on a All Rounder SIM only taken out in October 2023 which includes 1 inclusive extra.
I switched to the Roam Abroad Pass as I’m due to travel in a few days, and received what feels like very a cryptic message (read on for why I feel this way):
Hi from EE. You've made your travel more simple with the Roam Abroad Pass Inclusive Extra. You can use your UK allowances while abroad in the EU, USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. From 4 December, we won't offer this add-on anymore, so once it's been removed, you'll need to choose something else. We'll text you nearer the time with your options. Please visit ee.co.uk/go/roamingrefresh for more info. Thanks.
The roaming refresh page mentions “Inclusive Extra - YES” for EU and Zone 1, but then doesn’t say what that inclusive extra will be called, nor who it will be available to.
“Read the Travel Data Pass Terms and Conditions” contains no hyperlink, so there are no T&Cs to read.
I changed from an older plan to my current one specifically to use the roam abroad benefit and avoid daily roaming charges.
Can someone provide specifics on what’s changing?
