Did you mean:

I'm abroad, my account has been closed, and I can't call 150

Hi everyone,

I planned to live in South Korea for about three years, but I wanted to keep my number. I called EE customer service in June, and the representative told me I can switch from my monthly plan to Pay As You Go. They arranged for the change to happen automatically on 25 July.

After I arrived in Korea, I received a text msg on 25 July saying I could now top up my plan. However, when I logged into my EE account, it said the my account had been closed. I tried calling 150, but I couldn't get through, I guess it's because I'm overseas.

Is my number still recoverable? What should I do next?

Thanks in advance!

@Bokyeong : As it was switched to PAYG while you were abroad you can't now use it until you return to UK. EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network before they can be used abroad.

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks. So does that mean I can simply activate it when I return to the UK in about 3 years? Or I've seen people mention a 90-day grace period for activation. Would that apply in my case?

No, not in 3 years. It will go into hibernation after 6 months due to non-use & it is then you get the 90-day grace period for activation by calling CS before it is lost completely.

You could send it to a mate in UK to make a call or text from it before returning to you.
