I'm trying to work out hie to buy a roaming abroad pass on the ee website.

  • It comes up with a page telling me to turn off my WiFi and then turn it on again've done this but it still hasn't changed anything.I want to buy a 7 day pass for £25 and the whole process seems really complicated!

I font want to ring customer services as I'm abroad and I will be charged!

im not an overtly technical oerson so need 'lamens terms' style instructions!

Regardless of any billing add-on, your ability to get coverage abroad (which calls, texts & mobile data rely on) is dependent on roaming being activated - which allows your phone to connect to foreign networks. When you first arrive abroad and connect to a foreign network, you'll receive a welcome text message with a link from where you can purchase add-ons and roaming passes.

Have you used your phone abroad previously, did you receive a welcome text message on first arrival abroad? These are good evidence of roaming being enabled if so. In these cases, manually cycling through all available local networks often resolves issues - toggling flight mode can have the same effect.

If not...On PAYG, roaming is auto-enabled once your phone is used in the UK first. On pay-monthly, this needs to be enabled manually - usually by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. Did you do this?

If you are on pay-monthly and now find yourself abroad without having enabled roaming, your only recourse will be to contact CS to request it activated. You can either contact +44 7953 966150 from another working phone, or +44 800 9566000 using a web-calling app over WiFi.

Hi, yes I have received a welcome text message from EE, so assume that means I have 'roaming enabled' on my phone?    If that's the case then what do I do next?

If you turn your WiFi off and try and connect to the internet are you prompted to try and buy a pack @gemhallin?

Alternatively if you text 'ROAM' to 150 then you should be given the options to add this.

That text message should contain a link - click on it to load the page from where you can select which pass you want to purchase.
