Hello,
Anyone got experience of being called from the NHS while abroad? I'm travelling to Switzerland shortly with my iphone when I'm due to receive a telephone consultation. I've set Roaming on and plan to buy the £25 monthly roaming pass which I understand would allow me to make phonecalls but I am unclear about receiving calls. Any advice, as I really don't want to miss the call... it's a long waiting list if rescheduled.
Thanks, Emily

You will be able to receive calls provided you are enabled for roaming on your a/c.
As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

To add to the previous reply.. you mention about being called by the NHS - but how about other calls, not from the NHS? Can your receive those?
You mention about "set roaming on", but how exactly did you do this?

@ERose1 , if you have set up roaming on your account, then it will work fine here, that is where I am right now, beautiful country, where in Switzerland are you planning on going?

Fantastic! That’s reassuring so thank you. Planning to explore Bernese Oberland

I’ve now followed the instructions above relating to 150 and will pay for the £25 / month fee. I’m heading at the weekend but it’ll be a couple of days before the NHS phone call so I’ll try and do some practice calls from other numbers - good suggestion. Thank you.
