Adding a spend cap.

Hi,

I know I need to add a spend cap so my data etc. can be used abroad (Italy), but how far in advance do I need to add that spend cap to ensure my phone is ready to be used abroad?

Thanks in advance.

What makes you think a spend cap is needed to use your phone abroad? Of far more importance is that you enable roaming to allow access to foreign networks - this is free of charge and can be done anytime.

Pay-monthly users can text ROAMING to 150, PAYG users just need to ensure their phone has been used in the UK first.

The only time a spend-cap is relevant is that, whether you are using the monthly roaming pass or daily charge, that those charges can be applied to your account.. assuming you're on pay-monthly.

Hi,

Because I have this “£2.47 per day for EU roaming” as a non removable add-on, to use this I need to have a spend cap in place to cover the daily fee.

Thanks

In which case you need sufficient headroom in your spend cap when the charges are going to be incurred. In other words - when you are roaming.

Thanks, appreciate that, but how far on advance do I need to apply the spend cap?

The Spend Cap is not relevant when using the Roam Abroad Pass as it cannot restrict it.
