Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network before they can be used abroad. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

Hi @damian37
As @XRaySpeX said it won't work until activated on the UK network.
Best buying a polish SIM card if in Poland.
Thanks

Does Orange and T-Mobile in Poland not offer roam like home when travelling in the UK??
Beware of Orange travel sims being sold to tourist in France,Spain and Poland, they charge crazy rates as much as.€40 for EU roaming when in reality you can pick a normal Orange prepaid sim and take advantage of roa like home offers.
The EU banned roaming charges and Orange has found a sneaky way around this
