Hello,
I had an iPhone 6 - with a ee sim and a 'pay as you go' plan. The wifi on my phone works perfectly but when I leave the house the mobile data just does not work. Says 'no internet connection'. I thought it was the phone but now I have an iPhone 7 and put the same SIM card in it and it does exactly the same. nothing I've done works.

Sounds like your PAYG SIM has gone into hibernation.
When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

@tkole1965_ Have you turned on mobile data ? Have you allowed what ever app your using to use mobile data ?

I can receive calls but I can't call anyone or send texts or go online when away from my wifi.

yes I turn mobile data on but still can't connect to internet or make calls.

The iPhone 6 I bought refurbished on Wowcher and the iPhone 7 refurbished from giffgaff.com
Both phones had exactly the same issues. Nothing makes sense.

I don't understand. I've used my phone, calls incoming and outgoing, texts etc, I've topped up my PAYG account a couple of times within the last 6 months. should i get a new sim?

Have you made chargeable calls & texts in the last 6 months outside your pack allowance? When did you last buy a pack?
