Voice mail

Can anyone tell me how to turn my voice mail on ? I’ve never actually turned it off and I’ve tried everything that has been recommended but only ever get try again later message

What number was showing in your phone's call divert menus, for your "divert when unreachable" & "divert when no answer" options?
