Unable to use data even though I have more than sufficient credit

vengeancezak

I'm unable to use any mobile data on my EE PAYG SIM.

Following an emergency, I tried to connect to data just for a split second until an urgent message showed as sent, I had £4.80 of credit on the SIM (more than enough for what I was trying to do) which is still all present. It wouldn't let me use data and I keep receiving text messages "to use data you'll need to buy an add-on or pack" ? Despite having enough credit.

Is this some useless new "feature" I can disable somewhere? Or do I need to change to a new network?

Hello @vengeancezak

Welcome to the community.

I am concerned to hear that you have not been able to use your data during an emergency.

Could you please confirm if you are abroad at the moment?

To use mobile data you will be required to purchase an add-on or a pack.

Calls and texts can be sent using your available credit.

@vengeancezak  You can not use credit on the account towards data usage you need a pack that gives you a set allowance of calls/text and data or you need to purchase a data add on and both of these last 30 days.     Your credit on your account can not be used for calls/text charges.

Nothing about this has changed it’s always been like this.

If your trying to send an RCS/iMessage or via other data app like what’s app it’ll not send as these use data and you can not use credit on the account towards data usage

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
