Hi, I was in the UK in August / September 2022, and I went to an EE store to get a SIM card. That card is currently in my phone and the number appears to be functional (I got some auto texts from EE when I reactivated the SIM). I am traveling back to the UK next week, and I would like to buy a subscription pack for this line. But every time I enter a card number, nothing happens. Both on my phone and on the webpage, it just clears the form and expects me to start over. Any idea what's going on here?

Sounds like your PAYG SIM has gone into hibernation after over 6 months of non-use..
When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

Thanks XRaySpeX, I guess I'll try to create a new phone number on this SIM then. It was a pain to get it last year, and I don't want to waste an hour on arrival if I don't have to.

You can't create a new phone no. on a SIM. You'll need to buy a new SIM.

No, I'm still confused. How was EE able to send me texts if the number is no longer mine?

Thanks - I see that now. It would have been better if the website or the app could have just said "this SIM and phone number have been deactivated."
