Question about pay as you go

Yan8

Hi ~ I would like to ask some questions about pay as you go.

Question 1:I have been using pay as you go's £15 package.
Fixed monthly top up of£15. but if I want to change the package in the future, how do I do it? If I want to choose the£5 package, do I only need to top up my phone by £5 next month?
Question 2:Will I be able to receive text messages and incoming calls if I don't top up my phone number (no balance)? And will the phone number be canceled?

Hi @Yan8

1. You need to text STOP PACK to 150 before topping-up and then buy the pack you want.

2. Your number goes into hibernation if you don't use it.

Thanks

    1. Top up enough & buy the new pack you want. It'll start when the existing pack expires. If you want it to start immediately text NOW to 150.
    2. The £5 pack no longer exists. It was a legacy pack.
  1. Yes, you will be able to receive both calls & texts while in UK. Outside UK you will not be able to receive calls as these are chargeable but texts are free to receive worldwide. Also beware of hibernation as pointed out by @Northerner .

Thank you for your reply.

Do I still need to text if I want to change my plan at the start of the renewal period? How many pounds is the minimum package?

And how long will the number be cancelled without topping up?Can I receive text messages if I don't top up my account for a few months? (In case I am not in the UK)

Hi there @Yan8

You would need to stop the current pack before selecting a new pack. Please text ALL PACKS to 150 for current available packs.

If the number goes into hibernation you would not receive texts, our Why Has My Top Credit Run Out? Help page has full details on when this will happen and how to stop this 🙂

Leanne.

To start a new pack at the start of the renewal period just buy the new pack before the start of the renewal period by texting ALL PACKS to 150 & choosing it.

The min. pack is currently £10.

For example, if I need to renew my subscription on the 10th of the month, then I can just send an SMS to 150 on 7.10? Can I then just change my subscription?

How long does it take for a number to be canceled if I don't renew it?

Thanks

EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months period of grace to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You need to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
