I’m going to the EU in a fortnight. I take an unsmart mobile phone and an ipad - both on pay-as-you-go. I don’t have a subscription pack. In the past my phone and ipad have worked fine in the EU, but now that there are roaming charges I want to know if I can continue to phone and use data purely with pay-as-you-go. I understand that it’ll probably work out more expensive - that’s not my question. Simply: can I continue to top up whenever I need to in the EU without having any kind of subscription pack?
Thanks.

Hi @Felspar
Welcome to the community.
To use data, you need a data roaming add-on. Without one of those, it won't access the internet. Are you asking if you can use your credit to make and receive calls and send messages rather than a pack?

Yes but if you don’t have a an active Pack, you will be charged the standard roaming costs: 70p a minute and 30p a text and you’ll need to buy a data add-on (500MB for £3).

Hi.
I always have credit on my ipad. In the UK I just buy a data add-on if I want to go online using mobile data. Can I still do this in the EU?
Thank you.

Yes, but as I said only a 500 MB data add-on.
