Moving from sim only to PAYG

Kbm297

Hi,

I am moving abroad so made the decision to move from sim only to PAYG- today I went into my EE app to top up for the first time- register my debit card etc and there’s just a big notice saying my account is closed and I cannot do anything. Does the switch take time? Do I need to create a new account? I can’t loose this number as everything for my new job is on it! Any help much appreciated.

thank you

App & self-service issues aside, make sure you activate your new PAYG SIM by using it in the UK for a chargeable call or text before travelling abroad.

That is how roaming is activated, thus enabling access to foreign networks. Be aware of the hibernation policy which requires chargeable usage at least once every 179 days to avoid suspension.

The switch to PAYG takes the 30-days notice you gave to EE to cancel your contract.

You need to call CS to delete your old contract MyEE a/c & then you can set up your new PAYG MyEE a/c afresh, using the same mobile no. & email addy if desired. You can't mix them under MyEE.
