I wish to keep my mobile number although I won’t be using it for some time. I believe that the number must be used within a 90 day period or the mobile number is reassigned. Do I have to physically make a txt or a call before the 90 days pass or will making a small top up before the 90 days suffice to keep the number . Thanks

You're referring to PAYG hibernation. The policy is outlined at https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Pay-as-you-go/What-is-pay-as-you-go-and-flex-hibernation-and-how-do-I-...

Chargeable usage is required at least once every 179 days.

A top up will also work however the period is 180 days so just the odd text will work too

Within any 179 days you need to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
