How to set up answerphone msg

I have a cheap ten quid phone and reception for EE is crap. I often receive missed call alert. As I`m on PAYG, I don`t wish to spend anything, but instead want to leave a message people will hear that instructs them to text me instead. How do I set this up please? Thanks for your time.

@Cods   You call your voicemail and set this up via the options given.   Hold down the number 1 on your keypad until it calls your voicemail.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you, worked a treat. Reply was that I didn`t have enough credit to make that call. Dialled 150 to find I had 30p left since my £5 top up on 13/07/22.

Wow, more than 30p just to access my answerphone to create a message for callers. Nutz, I`ll pass on that fleecing.

Yes, it costs 40p / min to call your VM. Of course, if you still had a pack allowance, as most do, it would be free.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks, I`m 10p short then.

Forty pence, wow what a rip-off!  I`m not `like most`....that`s stood me in good stead during the last few years. Only spent £4.70  in the last ten months, I wonder how much `most`,  have spent on their mobile in that timeframe with their `pack allowance` option?

No other way to get an answerphone message set up? I generally only use it for people to contact me. Reception is so poor here behind the back of beyond, if I`m lucky will get a text off by walking 60ft to end of garden and hold hand aloft for three or more attempts.

Then you hardly use it. Most of us do!

If you have a voicemail PIN set, you can dial into your voicemail on 07953 222222 from any other phone.

You could also use WiFi-calling to dial voicemail if you have a compatible phone. No coverage doesn't mean no service.

Thanks. Don`t think I`ve ever had a voicemail pin.

All I have is a landline, desktop PC & this cheapo old mobile.

Got another problem, re bt emails, so got to nip off somewhere to get an answer to that issue too.

Already taken TT to the cleaners.....
