Calling from EU to and from UK

Hello EE community support

I  am in Europe due to my sick parent for 2 months now who is living in Greece but my family is in UK.  I assume will stay longer as she needs me for good. The last fortnight I have received SMS on my Pay-as-you-go phone that you introduced charges on the 6th of June 2023 for roaming from EU. Is that correct please? Does this apply to my case please? I have been many years >5 years with this EE pack and customer of Tmobile for ages. Do I have to pay this cost please as I don't pay roaming charges from Geece now? Please let me know

If I do have to pay roaming from Europe, can you please recommend to me the cheapest roaming cost if I need to call my family in the UK, once or twice a week for a few minutes. I'll appreciate your help and your response as I have been EE customer for so long.

Thank you in advance

ktrianta

Hello @ktrianta ,

Welcome to the community,

I have an app called VoipCheap, which is very reasonable to use, you just add money to the account, worth taking a look, there are other apps such as Skype, but with the other apps, if you do not use the app or make chargeable calls or text, after six months you will lose the remainder of your money, this does not occur with VoipCheap. Hope this helps.

Just remember that if you do not make a chargeable call or text with your pay as you go, you could eventually lose the number, just advice for you.

From 6th June all PAYG users will need to pay charges to use their UK allowances in the EU. It'll be either £2.50 / day or £10 /week.
