Will call forwarding work if using a Pay as You Go sim ? We have a fault on a business land line and BT can set up a transfer to a mobile. We then want to be able to use the mobile with a pay as you go sim to then forward calls to another number (which we will change at different times of the day) Presumably, the calls between the sim only mobile and the number we send the calls to will come out of the 500 minute sim allowance?

PAYG only supports call diverts to the voicemail number. Any attempt to set a divert to any other number from a PAYG SIM will result in an error message on your phone's screen, and the divert not being set.
You would need a pay-monthly contract-based SIM to set the call diverts you wish.

@BBTmobile : No, other than the standard call forwarding to VM on PAYG.

You've referred to both pay-as-you-go and also "SIM only".
SIM-only is generally considered to mean a pay-monthly plan which isn't device-based, these do support call diverts. PAYG, which is a prepayment setup, doesn't.

Thanks for your responce. Can you expand on the "No" please. To explain it's not so much the cost/length of the calls which we are concerned about, it's more we want to be certain that call forwarding to another number will work if used on a pay as you go sim.

Sorry - we would purchase a one off £10 or so sim with 500 minutes - it's a temporary measure for hopefully just a few days until BT can fix the Cloud Voice Portal which has a fault which is preventing both us and BT from making any chages at the moment. So on this basis, you say the call forwardinig isn't available.

I am saying that on PAYG you cannot do call forwarding other than the normal diverting to VoiceMail.
