You can just apply for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no.

Did you obtain the IMEI from the router's System Settings?

It’s on the router sticker and on the box
If I use some online IMEI check system it does recognise the imei and name of the router.
when I put on EE website is says there is a problem. So I’m confused

But is it the same in its actual settings? It would be a sanity check to be sure. IMEIs come in ranges for a particular device model & so would be recognised even if it were wrong.

Login to your MBB router at http://192.168.1.1 with username/pwd as "admin"/"admin" or with the admin password found under the battery cover. Then look for its System Settings.
