EE PUBLIC WIFI STOPPED WORKING ON PS5

For the past 9 months, I have been using EE public wifi on my PS5. You connect to EE Wifi but internet will fail. You open Network > Connection Status > View Service Status > opens EE public Wifi Authentication Portal > Enter login details > You now have internet. 

 

The last 3 days - It will not allow me to access the authentication portal. I recently renewed my broadband contract for the next 24 months. It works on my phone as normal. I am considering cancelling it because of this. I am still within the cooling off period.

Thanks @SQ9, if possible it's worth trying this with a different EE hotspot to see if the same issue occurs, but I appreciate this may not be possible. 

It's also possibly worth forgetting this on your PS5 and manually setting up the connection again.

Just to be sure here, you've mentioned that you recently renewed your contract - is your PS5 still working on your home network?

Also is it just the one public access point that you've tried here, or have you tried several and seen the same issue?

Hi @SQ9 

Are you sure the pubic WiFi is genuine. 

It may just be down as the service is designed for the public use and may just be inactive.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

My broadband is set up in another home and works fine. I use EE public wifi in a separate home. 

 

Im not sure what you mean by the second part. My main problem is - authentication page used to load allowing me log  in with my EE broadband account to access EE public wifi on my PS5. This was fine for the past 9 months but the last 2-3 days, the authentication page wont load. 

Its the same wifi as its saved on my PS5

Has to be a very recent problem as i have been having problems too . Was working fine last Tuesday and got back home today to try and login to public wifi and the authentication web inst loading on the ps5 just like that piccture . Pls fix this

Not really. They said ee wifi works off other neighbours routers who have "opted in" and it seems like a neighbour has recently opted out which is why authentication has failed.

 

That could have explained it...... but, it still works on my phone and laptop 

I mentioned this to the guy and he said he wasn't sure.
