I had my google pixel 7 pro sent off for a screen repair and at the in store booking was charged £150. Today I have received email and voicemail saying that their is a quote that the repair centre are waiting for my response from and that I need to get in touch with my local store. Does this mean there is going to be an extra charge on top of the initial payment of £150? If so why have I paid £150 for the screen repair?

I'd recommend speaking to your local store where you deposited the phone. An admin mix-up sounds distinctly possible.

I had a call from the repair centre this morning 22nd may 2025 at 8:22am. They asked me if the store had called me, which I said no and they then said well we have a quotation for repair here of £150, so I said that the £150 had already been paid when I took the phone into store. So they lady said oh right okay their must have been a glitch in the system somewhere along the line, she said she could see that their had been a payment made on the 18th may which is correct as that is when the hole process started. So she then said that she will approve the quotation request, that no further payment is required and that she was going to raise a ticket, the phone will be repaired without any further payment. But I just checked tracking and it hasn’t been updated yet, how long will that take?

Hey @Skully2, thanks for the update here.
When you say there's not been an update, is this still showing that a payment is required, or is it now just awaiting completion of the necessary work?
If it's the latter, it may just be a case of this taking a bit longer than expected to complete.

It’s only just updated, to “repair delayed, waiting for parts” updates on the tracking seem to take a while and I don’t get notified either like I’m sure I’m supposed to.

I'm glad to hear that's updated for you now @Skully2, even if the repair is going to take longer than expected.
I'll keep everything crossed it's sorted out soon, but if you need any further info in the meantime our repair team will definitely be best to reach out to so they can check things over direct.
