Hi before anyone tells me I'm a silly old woman I hold my hands up I am!!
I had an old Alcatel phone locked to EE which I gave to my brother who had a Vodafone sim. I, stupidly, used an instant/express unlocking service which was neither instant or express. They told me EE had refused to give the unlocking code so they would have to contact the manufacturer and could take 4/5 days and then 10 days. The payment was pending so I asked them not to proceed as my brother would get an EE sim. After many emails where they ignored my request they took £26. Anyway I sent all the emails plus the fraudulent Trustpilot score and reviews, Trustpilot are now aware of this, to my bank who investigated and refunded me.
Today I have received 3 threatening messages saying that as I'd been refunded this had caused them fees of £34.80 as they has contacted the manufacturer and I have 7 days to pay them or they will blacklist the phone 🤦♀️I never used any unlocking code we just stayed with EE.
My brother has been unemployed for over a year and has just started a new job working nights so he needs the phone.
Can the unlocking company blacklist the phone??

I approached an unlocking company to unlock my Alcatel from EE. Long story short they said EE refused to unlock it so they paid you to unlock it. I'd actually cancelled the unlocking but they took payment of £26 which I did get refunded by my bank. The company are now saying that I owe £34.80 which they paid you and if I don't pay in 7 days they will get you to blacklist the phone. I never used an unlocking code as I got an EE sim. The phone was given to my brother who was been unemployed for over a year and he has just got a job.
I've also contacted EE as I have receive 3 threatening messages today about them blacklisting.

Hi Linzi
Thank you for your reply. I received further threats last night which is a total of 5.
I contacted the manufacturer as they said they had purchased the code from them and it is via the manufacturer that they will blacklist the phone. The manufacturer has advised me they do not sell unlocking codes and it would have been EE who could unlock free if the phone had no debt, which it didn't .
I have replied to the company advising them of the manufacturers response and the I had contacted EE also.
I think it'll be a suck and see situation. If they somehow manage to block the phone I will be in touch.
Thanks again.
