placed on 11th for black sony xm4's no mention of dispatch time just "dpd 2 days delivery". Would be nice to have some sort of time frame. Why cant i cancel an order that hasnt been touched for days

Same here, to the point where I wondered if it was a very elaborate scam. No way of talking to anyone about it either as there's no phone number involved...

Also doesn't recognise my order number, which is very concerning. May have to contact credit card company...

Just to be sure, was it the EE store, or the online shop via your mobile account, that you ordered this? 
Also does your order number start with XK or something else?

The EE store. Order starts with EE. I have tried In vain, to speak to someone but unless it’s about a phone it’s impossible, as they want an EE phone number, which I don’t have.

If you don't have an EE mobile, you can reach the EE Electronics team, who handle the orders starting with EE, on 08000790062. They are available from 9am to 6pm over the weekend and 9am to 7pm on weekdays.

Thanks Michael. Just spoken to the excellent Kelly, and she can see my order, which should hopefully get completed soon!
