Hi will that be possible just got my iPhone 17pro yesterday and want to change it to the pro max . I bought it on contract

You would need to return the iPhone 17 Pro within your 14-day period if you purchased online or over the phone, and once this has been received and processed as a return you would then be able to order a 17 Pro Max. If you purchased this in-store, the 14-day change-of-mind does not apply and there is no return policy.
The 17 Pro Max is currently experiencing stock shortages, with wait times on orders placed today being "expect dispatch within 21 days" for the Blue and Silver and "expect dispatch in more than 28 days" for the Orange with the standard storage.

@Randolf20 : If you ordered online or by phone you may cancel the order FoC before or during the statutory 14-day cooling-off period from delivery & then reorder what you really want.

I see your initial question has been answered. Yes, once your phone is returned, a new order would need to be processed for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, including a credit check.
