Hi. When will the Fold 9 pro be delivered? I believe the release date is Wednesday coming. Will they be sent out on Wednesday or be delivered on Wednesday? I ordered a few days ago, but there is no tracking. When I type my order number in it just gives me a red box with "sorry you can't track this order type just yet".

I’m in the same boat
Order says “Awaiting Confirmation” noticed on business site for EE there staying the 256gb is in stock, called up to check the order and they informed me it would be shipped within 28 days when asked about the business side they said they don’t stock the 256 variant at all.
I asked if they know how many orders they have vs stock arrival and they have no idea. This is surprising business practice, especially considering the offers EE promoting for Google they are clearly the preferred cellular provider for the UK.
It would not surprise me in the slightest if all orders ship 4th / 5th because Google will supply the amount to cover the orders, Amazon, Google, JL all have stock, would be crazy for EE not too have it.

It really is crazy. Also considering I was told I was being sent a returns envelope for my free anytime upgrade to return my Pixel Fold 1. I was told I have to return it within two weeks of recieving the envelope... The envelope is being sent by Thursday.
How am I supposed to return phone before recieving a new one. If I don't return it I will get charged. It's ridiculous.

I think you're right, and they will probably all ship on the 4th / 5th. The Fold is generally far less popular than the other Pixel models, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't sufficient stock to cover pre orders up to a week before release.
It's the process and communications that's poor though, and EE not providing their staff with the tools and info they need to reassure their customers. On a small priced item I wouldn't be so bothered but this has a high RRP, and as others have said there's a tradein process which runs in conjunction with it.
I know product launches are difficult to manage from a supplier point of view, but I've not seen a single other retailer selling this item where they couldn't tell me within a 2-3 day window when I'd receive it.
Just a very poor experience all round ... Been an EE customer for 14 years and it's the first time in about 10 where I've not gone SIM only. I won't be in a rush to pre order a device with them again as I like to know when expensive items I've put money down for (I paid a a little upfront) will be arriving more than a day in advance.

I don't believe they will have stock to supply demand. Remember Google priorities are themselves first then mobile providers of which EE are one of many. Also, remember this is I believe, a worldwide launch? Google will prioritise US firstly. It's not as simple as making enough devices to fulfill demand. Google won't want to make too many units that they would have them sitting in a warehouse collecting dust. They would have a ballpark figure or guesstimate of how many to manufacture and then go off of that.
So many things come into play and as you rightly pointed out the pixels are likely more popular, but how do we know the fold isn't as popular this year? I don't mind there being a delay, as this is likely to happen with all new and popular releases. What I do mind is EE not being able to give basic information regarding preorders and then charging anytime upgrade customers for EEs own incompetence.

I just went on the assumption of more expensive device and subjective functionality ... Don't think I ever saw a previous gen fold in the wild but I'm always seeing other Pixels. Purely anecdotal evidence though!
I'm assuming everyone's had the hilarious "your order is in track" email?
On track for when, EE? Wednesday? Christmas? "On track" would assume there's some sort of defined delivery date they're working towards, they just don't see fit to share that with their customers.
Looking through the forums this seems to happen every time with pre orders through EE - nothing like taking on VERY vocal customer feedback and doing something to improve customer experience.

I don't have an email saying it's on track, but I can now use the tracking website and it says order delivery date "awaiting confirmation".
Oddly tracking will only work via my email address, but if I use my phone number it won't track.
When did you get the email saying your order was on track?

I've always been able to use the tracking, but not from the order ref I got in store, I had to use one received by email ... And yep, my email address rather than phone number.
The "your order is on track" came through yesterday I think, but the tracking info is still set at "awaiting confirmation" so nothing changed there. I can only assume I've been allocated a phone from a shipment for the email to trigger. Whether that's for Wed, next week etc who knows?

Okay I assume I won't get my phone next week then... When did you order the phone?

I had the same email on the 25th August but no update since. I've heard of one person with a confirmed EE shipment date so far, but they may have been mistaken.....
When I called the guy didn't seem overly concerned I wouldn't get it, but ultimately he didn't have alot of info on it.
So frustrating!

It would help if you can list initial order dates?
