Payment taken for upfront charge and declined for contract phone

I tried to apply for contract phone and it was 30 pound upfront charge so I submitted it and it got refused I didn't get accepted when I cpound checked my bank the 30 pound has still been taken out it's saying pending!! This has made me infuriated and I want it back as soon as how can I sort this out

A pending payment isn't a taken payment it's a payment your bank has ringfenced. It's normally held by your bank for a period of time then released if the request for the payment isn't made.

Iv had the same happen to me today. I applied for a contract phone and had credit declined. A little later I logged in to my banking app to check my balance to find that we have still taken the upfront cost of £30. I was given no information about a refund when declined and no communication since . I must say that this is an odd practice every other company I've dealt with have accepted or declined credit before taking any monies. Some advice would be appreciated thanks
