New customer - Possible eSim activation due to Royal Mail strike?

I recently joined EE and because of Royal Mail strikes, I will need to wait for the sim to arrive a week late. Is it possible to activate my account via eSim instead and to port in an existing number? I do not have the mobile number but have the account number. Thanks.
