Hello everyone in the ee community it’s that time again of the year placing and tracking the new iPhone 16 and 16 pro max’s orders and especially since a few years with delay issues with ee 😂 and then ringing them up and patiently waiting for that DPD notification I love this time of the year, so everyone I have created this thread and everyone stay posted in this thread don’t follow any other thread keep this one running guys if we keep each other updated then hopefully we get the iPhone this year on time on release day.

5 times I’ve called them and each time been told Anytime Upgrade isn’t available now,  what they said is you can still upgrade anytime, but only if you pay off the contract in full.

I have just got off the phone with EE and I insisted I went onto anytime. They offered me £20 if I didn’t but didn’t want to. So I am still on Upgrade Anytime.

To be honest. This isn’t any different from previously just different mechanics. The upgrade anytime (if memory serves me correct) was you hand back the old phone, the balance is cleared to enable you to upgrade to the new phone! I wouldn't be surprised if they have changed this to - pay off your balance as they were losing money on contracts due to the value of the phone not equalling the balance of the contract! This way they actually get the full contract paid off by the customer (slightly higher contracts this year) and the customer keeps the phone!

Ultimately once the contract paid off and you ‘eventually’ get your new phone, you can sell your old one and recoup most of that money. And depending on how quick you get your phone this year, there maybe a little profit left over after you’ve taken off the amount one paid to clear the balance.

Literally just got off the phone with EE and I was told that I was due for delivery on launch day or slightly later.

Haven’t upgraded with EE for a good few years when does the EE order tracking update to tell you if your one of the lucky ones to get a DPD delivery on Friday?

mine is still showing awaiting confirmation but my original email does say launch day delivery!

To be honest, it may not be a bad thing. I paid off my contract this year instead of using upgrade anytime. 1 year in on iPhone 15PM and the fee was £480

If your one of the lucky ones to have a launch day delivery - you should get the email from DPD or motivation in the app they’ve been notified of your order. This will update regularly right up till delivery.

no idea when you’ll get this but hopefully in a few days leading up to Friday.

good luck.

DPD notifications don't tend to come until the Wednesday/Thursday when they are notified by EE that there is a parcel, in my experience. The tracker will stay on confirmed/awaiting until Thursday as Apple won't release stock just yet.

That's strange... my order for 1TB black pro max was in by 13:09, and on my confirmation email stated that it's due to be delivered on release date.  That being said, when I did my upgrade a few years ago, I got a '14 day' wait time, despite putting the order in about 30 mins after preorder started... but I ended up getting the phone on the release date anyway... so yeah, could be just precaution.
