How long does it take to get my upgraded handset after DPD returned it?

I had my iPhone 14 Pro Max AND Apple Watch due to be delivered yesterday and DPD didn't even make any attempt to deliver it before marking it as refused. After much chasing was told that the only thing to do is wait for EE to get the phone back and update their system - cancel the upgrade and reorder it. Very frustrating and annoying delay when it could have just been redelivered. Does anyone know how long it will take for DPD to get the parcel back to EE. I have never felt so frustrated with a phone company before. I just want to know how long I am expected to wait.

@beeemm  ‘Not sure why your frustrated with EE as it was a DPD who failed with the delivery.

  Once EE have processed that return and your account has reversed back to the original tariff you’ll be able to upgrade again.  This will take around 7 days.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks for the insight. I'm frustrated because they should be able to offer customers a redelivery instead of making them wait whilst they cancel the entire upgrade. They chose DPD as a courier so should have more control of the situation.
