Hey @Seanf73.

Welcome back to the Community!

Could you please let me know exactly what message you're getting when trying to link this with Alexa?

Also if you go into Settings > Your Apple ID > Subscriptions, does this confirm this is active?

Peter

Hi Peter the message i get when I try to link with alexa is "you must update your account to continue. Update your account by signing in on s device running IOS 12 or later or going to appleid.com" when I try the latter I can log into my apple ID but it says no devices are associated with it (in spite of me signing in on my phone which has the apple music on it!)  I cannot see subscription in the menu where should it appear?

Wheb I look in the apple music app under account I  can see a button for subscription and it has two options "manage subscription" when i click this nothing happens and redeem code which prompts me to insert a vouccher code.

I just tried logging out of my apple music and now it wont let me log back in the error message I now get when signing in with appleID is "this action could not be completed due to an error" - tried several times with same end result

I think problem is that I have two appleIDs one under my email and one which was created when I signed up with EE which is my phone number

Thanks for explaining that for me @Seanf73.

What device is it you're using when listening to Apple Music on your phone?

Also when you first activated the subscription with us, you will have been directed to itunes.apple.com/carrier.

At this point it would have either asked you to log in with your Apple ID of choice, or linked to the Apple ID you were already logged in with.

Peter

Hi Peter its a Samsung S21 I can see the active subscription and it did all of the above when I logged back in. Issue is when I in turn try to log onto the actual appleID associated with it (my phone number is the log on in this case) I get the error message.

That was why I was wondering does the subscription only work on one device (ie my phone) rather than being able to use it on a second (ie my alexa)

The subscription should definitely work with multiple devices, @Seanf73 😊

I've used it in the past and it definitely worked with my desktop and iPad, along with Alexa via Sonos.

If your phone number is linked to a second Apple ID with a different email address, this would need to be the one that you log in with on the Alexa app.

Hi when i log in with the other apple ID on the alexa app it shows no active apple music subscription and therefore cannot link.  its not that I have a different email address rather I had an old apple ID from way back that was linked to the same email address but for some reason when I used the EE apple subscription it seems to be using my phone number as an apple ID. I was even going to try deleting the apple ID but can see if I do it will not let me re-use my email address.

So in short on my phone apple music working fine but not able to link it to alexa or use on any other device.

Wondering if I delete the apple ID and create a new one will that work (have anther email I can use)

Cheers for explaining that @Seanf73.

Before deleting anything I'd recommend reaching out to Apple as they may be able to check over how exactly your Apple IDs are set up.

The last thing we'd want is you losing access to this completely, so I'd definitely give them a shout, as everything sounds like it's as it should be with the subscription otherwise.
