What a mess the BTSport / TNTsport / Discovery+ migration has been.

I have spent the last 48 hours trying to activate my TNT Sport account, with no joy. I think the whole process has been handled terribly by EE who seem now only too keen to wash their hands of the matter. The process is confusing and the messaging prior to the migration was confusing.

Yesterday, within minutes of speaking to an EE rep they offered me to a £30 refund (which I gratefully accepted). It stinks of a half-cocked migration in which EE must have been complicit but powerless to assist clients and are now turning their backs on the whole debacle. Today (Sunday) I have just has a text chat with a rep who firstly offered to cancel my subscription to TNT Sport in the second line of the chat and then stated that it was a Discovery + issue and they were powerless to help. When I asked my complaint to be escalated to a Manager, the earliest I was told that a Manager would call me about this matter was Wednesday, three days from now!

I am now in email conversation with Discovery + who also seem quite bemused that I was able to watch BT sports as according to them, I don't exist. I have just sent them my latest EE invoice that clearly shows on Page 4 my TNT Sports subscription.

If you too have been experiencing similar problems then I would be interested in hearing them.

Hi @elkrust,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Did you activate your subscription at bt.com/sport/activate-discovery-plus?

Yes, I activated it, it said that you appear to be activated already.IMG_1337.jpeg

Did you use the specific link I posted @elkrust, or a different one?

Do you/have you had a discovery+ subscription elsewhere?

I have only ever knowingly used the link provided by EE.

I have been onto Discovery+ via their chat and have stated that I may have had an existing account with them and only used two possible email addresses. They cant find any subscription tied to either address.

Discovery+ basically pushed me back to EE.

Please let us know if the manager who is calling on Wednesday is able to resolve the issue @elkrust

They should be able to raise a support ticket for you if they can't fix it on the day.

I am completely confused and rather miffed, downloaded TNT as stated in text message, it then asks for a BT password, I previously had Bt Wi-Fi but changed supplier, I try to put in my EE password, but it just says incorrect password, been going round in circles for days! I can only sum it up as”COMPUTER SAYS NO” !

What am I supposed to do? Only want it for champions league, that I’m now missing out on! HELP somebody1

I have the exact same issue, discovery chat cannot help, BT cannot help, and EE did nothing. Such a mess yet still being charged despite not being able to watch sports. Shambles of a merge!

Hi All,

OP here. To be fair to EE, their manager did call me this morning and we tried a few things involving activating TNTSports but no surprise the results were the same as Sunday i.e no joy. We came to conclusion that my credentials must be sitting on a legacy server at either EE, BTSport or even Discovery+. I have been a client of EE for over 26 years, BT sport for at least 7-8 years. I even have a vague recollection of having a Discovery+ account years ago and even a Eurosport account before they got absorbed by Discovery+ at the beginning of the year. So I said to him that I would like to cancel my TNTSport Add-on and I will get in touch with Discovery+ to delete any accounts and I said I would try re-subscribing in a few weeks once the dust has settled.

Anyway - long story short - I happened to notice that Amazon Prime were offering Discovery+ sport as an add-on for £29.99 a month (a bit dearer than EE) but I thought "what the hell - give it a go". And within less than 1 minute I was watching the Champions League this evening via my AppleTV courtesy of my Amazon Prime credentials.

Good luck everyone with your own struggle.

Yeah it is impossible to watch live sport on the discovery + app.. the only solution is

for all to cancel the direct debits until it fit for purpose…
