I have got the s24 ultra and was told I would get a free tablet but haven't received it yet.

I am sure you will get it once the 14 days cooling off period has past, as you obviously ordered online or by phone, and so if you decide you are not happy with the new phone, this gives you time to make sure before they send the tablet.

I dont think its automatic. You have to claim it from samsung

You have to claim it from samsung but I think you may miss out as the deadline was April 30th.

Yes ive just claimed mine. As long as the purchase was made before 30th April you have 30 days from date of purchase, to claim the tablet via the samsung website.
