I get told I am eligible, then when I try to activate I get error WB402. Long live chat with BT and they couldn't help. Any ideas?

Thanks @Cymru01

If other devices and browsers have the same error message, please give us a call on 150 and the team can get this looked into further.

Leanne.

I've tried....

  • Multiple devices: phones, laptops, iPad.
  • Multiple OS's: Mac OS, IOS, iPadOS, Windows,
  • Multiple browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox.
  • Multiple internet connections types: Wifi, Cellular, Home wifi, Office Wifi, Train Wifi.

Guess what? Nothing works... For 5 weeks now I've been trying to get this resolved.

I wake up thinking of error WB402!

And don't bother calling 150, they will send you to BT, don't bother calling BT, they will tell you to email Discovery plus. Don't bother emailing Discovery plus, because after you wait the 5 days for them to respond, they will just tell you to contact BT.

Groundhog Day has nothing on this...

I was on the phone with EE the other day & was told to switch phone off/on & the EE man said he would phone me back which never happened! I am not phoning again waste of my time.

I sense your frustration Gorch, I at times have also felt like Phil Connors trapped in a world where I keep having to explain myself over and over to different people!

If all else has failed, and your list appears is exhaustive, then I would lodge a formal complaint as high as I could within EE and pursue this as a breach of contract as the company is failing to deliver a service you have paid for.

Good luck 👍🏻

I have an active discovery + subscription with sky as well as EE, could having sky be the problem?

I have a sky subscription too that I can see in my discovery plus account, but no TNT sports premium subscription which is what we need.

But I don't think this is connected because as I understand how the process is meant to work, after you activate you're meant to then get to a discovery plus login screen to add this premium subscription to the account.

If you think about it, I havent given any of my login details for discovery plus during the activation process, so how would BT know what I already have with discovery plus when this error occurs?

Just been on discovery help chat they said the following.

Upon checking with the resources, I see that many of our customers are facing the same issue.

Let me go ahead and update it to my internal team.

Ok

We appreciate your patience in this matter and request you to give us some time to get a workaround for this.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Hi @Cymru01,

Is your Sky subscription registered with the same email address?

If it is, you may need to cancel it before activating your subscription with EE.
