Apple TV+ verification

Hi,

I have an android phone and have activated the Apple TV+ addon. In EE app showing I have it free until May. I received a text from EE with a link to register on apple tv site. Apple ID signed in okay. However, it will not verify my phone number at the stage - The phone number associated with this subscription must be verified.  It has this message "This phone number could not be verified for this subscription."

Chat to EE helpdesk and tried all sorts.. turn WIFI off and use 4G, sent me another link, try number with/out +44, original sim number and port number.  Nothing worked. 

Read something online saying it is because I have not got an EE iPhone but EE helpdesk  think it should verify on my android phone and then I can watch on my WIFI iPad.

Can anyone help?

Just to let you know I have managed to ask for a refresh on my network settings so the my phone's setting is showing my correct number.ber than the temporary number and Apple TV + verification works straight away. 

I wish the chat member had listened and get one of those for me instead of asking me to put up with it.

Can someone explain the process, I have added apple tv to my account but cannot see where or how to add my phone number once I have logged in?

Hi,

 I think this is how it works from my experience.

Once you have added apple tv, you should receive a text from EE to verify. You  need to use the phone that has the EE contract. The verification process asks for your mobile number which is the number that you have the EE contact and it checks that number again the phone number in the settings of your phone that you are using to verify.  Once it verifies it is the same then it will work. 

In the Apple account, if you have not got an iPhone,  you cannot add a phone number. The only phone number I can add is the alternative number for verification.

I  have the link, but the verification process does not appear? I do not get any prompts for the mobile number?

The link should take you apple tv site for you to register.  Does the link take you to the site?

Thanks for the reply. 

I have the link and it takes me to the Apple TV sign in. I sign in and at no point to I get a prompt for the mobile. I have checked in subscriptions as suggested by another user. 

I have been onto support twice and they have removed and resent another link and still no joy. I have even been forwarded to Apple from EE and Apple cannot help as they have no record of this promotion. 

Getting back in touch with EE at the moment.

Which link are you using, @Bytes?

What type of phone are you using?

Have you tried over your mobile data connection, rather than WiFi?

And you using iPhone or android phone? The verification process may be different if on an iPhone. Mine is android. 

Have you got an apple tv+ account/subscription before now? I have not so I did not sign in, I registered as in as a new customer.  

If you signed in to your apple tv+ account (not apple id account), does it allow you to watch anything?
