Adding EE perks to upgrade

Grooster

Hi,

My contract has ended and I am trying to upgrade. My previous contract had an EEperks code attached and it has now run out.

The problem I have now is that when I go through to upgrade, choose my phone and contract, I get taken to what looks like a credit check page asking wages etc before I can add a new EE perk code.

I would like to know if the code works before having a credit score on my name.
Firstly is this a credit score, there is nothing on screen to say it is and secondly, if I get past this screen, is there a checkout screen where I can put in my EE perks code. I don’t want to be stuck with having a credit score and finding out that I can’t use my EEPerks, then having to go to another company and having another credit score.

Hope this makes sense.

thanks

I can absolutely understand your concern @Grooster.

If you're not able to apply your Perk discount when your place your order, then this can be applied within the first 30 days of you receiving your phone, by speaking with one of our team.

Hello @Grooster

Thanks for coming here.

Are you applying for a Flex Pay contract?

If yes, the 20% will be taken off the airtime part of your contract.

More information on Flex Pay can be found by visiting our EE Flex Pay Help Page.

Thanks for getting back to me.
So after going through the page (screenshot attached) it will take me to a checkout page that I can enter my discount code into?
Is this page a credit check? There’s no mention whether it is.
like I say, I’m reluctant to click through and have a hard search on my credit account, if I cannot check firstly to see if the discount works.

Thanks

Sorry, yes it is a flex pay contract

Hi @Grooster

Flex Pay is a separate credit agreement, however, still with EE just like your airtime plan.

This will be shared with credit reference agencies.

If you have any other questions about this search I would recommend getting in touch.

Katie

I completely understand and expect a credit check because I’m basically getting a loan for a new phone but what I was really asking is whether I press the button on that screen, do I get credit checked at that point.
Like I said earlier, I don’t want to get credit checked for a phone when I don’t know whether the perks discount will work. Normally, with most sites,  you get to the checkout, put your codes in, get the total anmounts and then get credit checked.

Dont worry, but thanks for your time

Hi @Grooster

You should be able to enter your Perks discount before this stage.

The box for Perk discount can be found on the same page for setting your spend cap or adding insurance.

Are you able to go back a step to check this?

These are the only pages I get in this order.

I choose the phone firstly, then the data package and then it takes me to a summary page, no options can be changed, no box for codes and then the next page is the page that looks like it’s going to credit check me.

Like I say, don’t worry about it for now, I will either call or go into a shop and ask.
