for what ever reason my iPhone 14 will not use mobile data or Wifi. it says its on and connected but won't show, I've restarted the phone 3 times, disconnected reconnect, I'm not sure if its the ESim, tbf I can't really go without my phone as I need it for work. the only thing I can do is call and FaceTime? cannot use any apps which is frustrating as I need to use whatsapp.

Any suggestions

Facetime is a proprietry Apple-app that uses data - be it WiFi or mobile-based.

The SIM, whether physical or electronic, controls mobile network access and has no bearing on WiFi which is just a connection between a mobile device & router.

Can you try resetting the network settings, to do this go into Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings. This will remove any saved WiFi passwords.
