! dodge some users use is for you to order a replacement SIM to be delivered to your UK addy, have some pal use it to make a call or text & then send it to you abroad.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

it seems like a stupid problem to have, it makes no sense, i have a working sim card with credit on it, i've called EE who told me they have unlocked roaming and added a pack... and it still doesnt work?
something like this shouldn't be so complicated. very poor.

It is! EE introduced a Catch 22 in their systems & never got rid of it.

Travelling abroad without enabling roaming does indeed cause a catch-22, because the result is a lack of coverage abroad.
Pay-monthly users can contact CS from another means (Skype, other working phone etc) to enable roaming. This is not a luxury PAYG users have.

@TTT12 , if you did not use your SIM card to make a chargeable call or text before going abroad, then the SIM card will not work, as it first has to be used in the UK.
Why not get a local SIM card whilst in Italy?

I 've enabled ROAMING and have been charged the minute I switched on the phone here in ITALY however I can't make any calls! and your advise is to CALL 150 ....Do you ACTUALLY undestand what you are saying?

This is the problem with jumping on someone else's thread and picking up on small details.
If you have a problem with your EE roaming services, I would suggest starting a new post and explaining the details. You can then get advice specific to your issue.
Incidentally, you are not charged for simply connecting to foreign networks as you appear to be suggesting.

Hi @Pr0gramm3d,
We want your travels to be trouble free, so I'd love to help you get this sorted.
It sounds like something on your account might be blocking you making calls, so you would need to speak with our team. Is there anyone you are travelling with who would be able to let you use their phone to call us using the details on our Contact Us page?
Rach
