global roaming mins dont work

I'm trying to make phone calls in tahiti after purchasing 60 global roaming mins. When I try to make a call it says I'm not set up on the system. 

I've followed and double checked tge how to set up for roaming abroad info.

Can anyone assist?

Purchasing a billing add-on doesn't enable the roaming facility which allows you to use your phone on foreign networks.

On the basis that you are on pay-monthly, did you enable international roaming before leaving the UK? Does your phone show service indicators of a local network?

If I had not enables roaming before leaving, can I still text to 150 to enable it?

@Jool   If you don’t have a network signal showing on the device how does that text to 150  get sent ?
