I am on a cruise and according to the ships help desk there us no reason why I shouldn't be able to use wifi calling. I have done everything correctly at my end and wifi calling is switched on. I have toggled flight mode on and off and switched my phone on and off but nothing is working. Any ideas?

@HeatherH WiFi calling only works within the UK. WiFi calling also it’s a means to get out of roaming charges if it did work.

@HeatherH , on a cruise ship, unless near a shore where you can get a network signal, you will not be able to get a signal on a cruise ship unless you pay extra for using the mobile, I would advise you to check out the cost.
Wifi calling if were enabled, would still use the same cost as if making calls without wifi calling, which as @Chris_B has written is only available in the UK.

@HeatherH : WiFi Calling is not guaranteed to work outside the UK & even if it did work it would cost the same as normal calls over the mobile network incl. roaming charges.
Outside the EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/maritimeshipsferriesandcruises.
