I recently rejoined EE. Today I was on the underground and at every station my iPhone connected to EE auto Wi-Fi but the connection never worked - nothing would load or work and eventually any webpage would say there was no internet connection. There isn’t the option to forget the network but I turned Wi-Fi on and off and switched off auto-join but none worked.
I was with EE previously only a few months ago. Might that be the issue and I need to reset my settings?

Hi @michaelamherst.
Welcome to the community.
Does this happen in multiple areas? sometimes there could be something interfering with the WiFi signal.

Hi @Katie_B
I was in London last week and can confirm it does not work. Followed the instructions as per EE guide.
I will be down again next week. I forgot to report this last week.
There is definitely something wrong with the authentication.
Thanks

Hi @Katie_B
It said something about authentication failure.
As you know I'm a EE pay monthly customer. I've double checked my settings. This was at kings cross to bank tube and back.
It previously worked (last year) just great.
Thanks

Thanks for letting us know @Northerner.
I will see if I can find any info on this.
Additionally, we would recommend customers reporting this to our technical care team.

I can 100% confirm EE WifiAuto connects just fine, it even receives an IP address and a couple of DNS servers via DHCP, and then absolutely nothing else works - no website loads.
Wifi calling works though.
The only reason this is not news is that nobody cares about WiFi in the tube anyway: it doesn't work between stations so it was just a gimmick even when it wasn't broken

I can also confirm the same. Connected at about 15-20 stations this morning. Same on the way home. Connects but without Internet. As previous post IP address assigned too. This is for about two weeks now. Very irritating.
