When I call landlines the people on the other end can barely hear me!!!

When I call landlines form my mobile, Google Pixel 7a, the people on the other end can barely hear me. They say its all broken, muffled, quiet etc.

This has been happening for over a year. It only happens when calling landlines, and not just one particular area code.

It's not my phone microphone issue as I can call a mobile straight after a landline call and I am perfectly clear. It's happened on more than one phone I have too.

I've also tried it on 4/5G and WifiCalling.

There's not outage or service issues in the area, as I said it's been happening for a long time now.

Seems I'm not the only person with this issue either!

If EE can't help me solve this I'll really need them to cancel my contract so I can move to another provider.

Hope someone can help although I'm not holding my breath based on the replies to these other threads.

Thanks,

J

Good morning @JRBean, welcome to the EE Community!

Thanks for taking the time to highlight the issues you've been having here, and I'm disappointed to hear you've not been able to get this resolved through the details you shared in the other threads.

There can be a whole number of things that are causing this, so I'm just going to check a few details so we can potentially rule them out.

What model of phone was the other one that you tried, and do you know if any other EE users in your area are affected in the same way?

Also is it absolutely every landline number you call here, or only certain ones?

You should be reporting in-call audio issues to CS, who ultimately should raise a faults ticket for further investigation - if there's non existing known issues. They should be checking the following...

1: Is there any pattern to the calls with audio issues - calls from a particular area, or to a particular area code/operator

2: Is there a complete loss of outgoing audio, or does it come & go during a call?

3: Provide a sample of 3-4 affected calls over a 2-3 day period.

Thanks for your reply.

My previous phone was an earlier version of a Google Pixel.

I'm not sure if it's every single landline I call as the penny just dropped that it seemed to only happen on landlines. I'd say it's most, if not all. I'll need to try phoning some people I know landlines' and try and see if it is all or some.
