Voicemail

I am thinking of leaving EE despite being a customer for many years.  Something odd is happening to Voicemail.  It shows that I have messages when I have none.  When I have tried to access voicemail the message has been incorrect.  For years of things working perfectly and made  sense.  This has to be a system/operator  problem, hacking or similar.  It is annoying and time consuming.  I find details from people in my address book whom I have not been in telephone contact with for yonks appearing on my screen.  It is too odd and time consuming.  EE staff complain of the number of people complaining about the topic.  Perhaps that’s a clue that something is badly wrong and there is a security issue? Anyone else have similar experiences?

@Phinola Get someone to leave you a VM, listen to it & then delete it. See if that clears it.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@Phinola  Anything in your address book has nothing to do with EE.      What device is this ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you for your idea.  It does help temporarily

Regards

Phin

Who are you?  My point is that the contacts should not appear.  EE staff confirm this.  It is strange that the  first address showing on each occasion has been different and not someone I routinely contact.  My iPhone is 12.  I also have a new basic phone and that too is misbehaving!  I have used mobiles and voicemail  for many years.  Never before this sort of nonsense.  I have tried going into my voicemail and the message played is not the usual one.  I have reverted in many ways to pen and paper as, for me, it is more reliable these days.  The other option is to leave EE and see if another provider can give me the former level of service I had from EE.  All staff have been charming.  My voicemail has been reset many times as they think it is stuck.  But the issue is ongoing.  I understand that many users have reported a similar problem.

Thanks for reply.

@Phinola   Who I’m I ?  I’m a customer just like you.  You might want to read THIS as there are others just like me on this forum willing to help other customers with issues as not everything needs to be fixed/sorted or advised via customer support.

Leave yourself a voicemail from a different phone then call your voicemail and listen to the message that you left yourself in full then delete it.  Make it about 15 seconds long.      Your voicemail has glitched and the only way to correct this is by doing the above

The contracts in your address book if you haven’t changed the default settings are all backed up via iCloud.  Nothing todo with EE.
Have you tried switching off your iCloud backup for your contacts and then restarting the device then switch the contacts back up back on ?

In settings/apps/contracts you have options to display how your contacts are available in your phone book.
